BDS (Hons), MFDS RCS (Ed), Dip Con Sed, PG Cert Clin Ed, M Oral Surg, FDS RCS (OS)

I was appointed as a Consultant Oral Surgeon, in August 2020, at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. I also enjoy working a couple of days each month as a visiting, Specialist Oral Surgeon in NHS Primary Care, where I treat patients with local anaesthetic and conscious sedation.

I completed Speciality Training in Oral Surgery in Newcastle and successfully passed the Membership and Fellowship exams. I graduated from Newcastle Dental School with Honours in 2001,where I went on to complete General Professional Training.  I briefly worked in General Dental Practice before taking up post as Senior House Officer in OMFS which is where my interest in Oral Surgery was ignited.

I spent a long, but happy seven years working as a Staff Grade in OMFS in Darlington Memorial Hospital, sharing the frustration of many colleagues seeking career development.  I also had second-on-call responsibilities for OMFS during this time and more recently whilst working in Newcastle.

I am part of the North East MCN and we are working together to improve training opportunities and Oral Surgery services across the region.

The things that give me happiness in life are my family and being out and about in nature. I particularly enjoy spending time along the stunning Northumberland Coast.
