Martin Curran

I completed my dental degree in 1980 at Queens University Belfast. After six year in hospital service and obtaining my fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow .

I set up the first fully dedicated Oral Surgery practice in the UK. The practice has grown over the years and moved three times to its current position on the Lisburn Road Belfast. Approximately 9000 patient, private and NHS, are treated per year by my team.  The practice is a teaching facility for students from QUB and students from other universities carry out electives at the practice. I am a member of the British dental Association and part of the BDA negotiating team regarding a new oral surgery contract for Northern Ireland. Also, I am a member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners and the Association of General Dental Practitioners. I have substantial experience in dental politics locally and nationally and sat on the Mouatt Committee in 1992 regarding the first steps to specialisation in dentistry in the UK.
