About BAOS

The British Association of Oral Surgeons represent all practitioners with a special interest in oral surgery and surgical dentistry, from the high street practitioner through hospital specialists to the Academic Oral Surgeons also represented by AACOMS.

The association originated from the BASD in 2003 where it was announced (after much debate) that the BASD was to change its name to the British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS). It was felt that this name is more recognizable to the public and our colleagues in Europe and further afield and better placed to reflect the speciality of Oral Surgery and Surgical Dentistry to all those involved.
